Subtle tweaks of language can have a big effect.

We all know the power of magic words like “please” and “thank you.” Well, there are lots of magic words that can change how people respond to us, especially our kids.

Here’s an example: try replacing the word “if” with the word “after” to avoid putting kids on the defensive (hint: it works with spouses, too!).
