It’s New Years 2013, and I wanted to re-post this tip on Celebration, because as Parents of ADD/ADHD kids we typically don’t celebrate enough. Spend time this week listing 10 things you want to honor and celebrate from the past 12 months.
Celebration is the act of honoring a person or event. In families, this is easy to do when it’s a defined event: birthdays, report cards, holidays. Not only does celebrating with our kids make them feel good about themselves, but it can be a powerful motivator. It will inspire her to continue to do her best at school. This week I want to challenge you celebrate both the big and the small stuff. Every day, find something in your children’s lives to honor. This will motivate them to continue doing their best, and put a smile on all of your faces. In truth, you’ll most likely enjoy it more than they will.
