Being the mom of an ADD/ADHD kid is hard work. It can be overwhelming, frustrating, confusing — lots of emotions come up. Sometimes I just feel like running away. My tip to you today is to do it! I don’t mean to pack your bags and leave your kids behind, although there may be times you dream of that J. I’m suggesting that you find something to help you escape from the pressures, even for a few minutes or hours. Here are a few ideas:
- Find a novel you can pour yourself into
- Go to the spa and get a massage or pedicure
- People watch at a coffee shop with your favorite warm beverage
- Go for a walk
The point is to do what you can to completely disconnect. Don’t spend your time thinking about your family, or trying to figure out how to approach the meeting with your child’s teacher on Thursday. Simply escape…
